Inspired by Clueless

Heyja.

It's fun to be back home, with all my fave friends and my wardrobe! It was amazing to be able to shop as much as I did in NY and LA and now I have a stuffed closet of my old stuff from paris and london last summer combined with all my new things.

Anyway, I watched Clueless a couple of weeks ago for like the 150th time and I love the fashion so much there. The cute little school girl skirts with knee high socks and Alicia Silverstone's caracter Cher is always adorable. I especially loved her red party dress ("it's like a really important designer..")

I bought a little bit simular red dress in Urban Outfitters that I wore to my best friends bday party last Thursday

HAPPY BDAY Kate Moss

Heyja!

My idol and biggest inspiration when it comes to fashion is Kate Moss! She is exquisite, so fabulous, and it's her Bday today! She's 39, it's crazy because she looks so young and is still so successful as a model. What I admire the most about her is how uniquely chic she always manages to look. She has a style everyone wants to copy but no one can manage to look nearly as cool as her. I love British fashion and she basicly represents British fashion. She probably has more vogue covers than any model in the world. So chic, so cool, so effortless. Happy Bday to the amazing Kate.

Golden Globe 2013- who wore what !

Heyja. After 24 hour traveling, from LA to Chicago to New York to Reykjavik, I'm finally home. I miss LA like crazy but it's always good to come home.

Anyway I watched the Golden Globe and I absolutely loved the fashion, even though I didn't quite get some of the outfits! Still, most of the women looked classy and feminine and everyone had a unique look going for them. My fave outfits were:

Sienna Miller lookes so cute in an Erdem gown. Never lets you down!
This Dior Couture Autumn/Winter 2012-13 isn't my favorite but I just love Jennifer Lawrence so much and her feminin figure looks amazing in it. She won the award for Best Performance in a Motion Picture- Comedy or musical for Silver Linings Playbook. It's one of my fave movies and I hope she gets an oscar as well, she definitely deserves it!
Kerry Washington wearing a sheer Miu Miu dress with Prada heels, this dress is the cutest ever  and looks so good with her petite figure
Lea Michele wore Elie Saab beaded gown. I love how simple and elegant the dress is, would love to wear that one myself!
Liberty Ross takes chic to another level in this tuxedo jacket teamed with a pair of slim black trousers for the Warner Bros party. I love this look
Anne Hathaway looked amazing in Chanel Couture. I love her short hair, she definitely pulls it off!

Finally, the amazing Leo DiCaprio wearing Tom Ford. He was nominated for his Supporting role in Django Unchained and I'm surprised he didn't win. I saw the movie in LA, it's so good and Leo is spectacular!

VENICE

Heyja!

We drove over to Venice yesterday. It's my second time there and I must say it's one of my fave places in Cali! This time we went to the main shopping street, Abbot Kinney, wich was crowded with fashion stores, art galleries and restaurants.
The stores were nice but really California Style, sort of beach chic for girls. I can't really picture myself wearing anything like that in Iceland and therefor I didn't buy anything. But if I stay here next summer I will definitely go shopping there, and buy really cute dresses to wear over bikinis etc. Then there were these super american cowboy style shops with 100% fine leather clothing, cowboy hats, boots and everything and of course a lot of surfers fashion. I think I'll go surfing next summer, it looks so cool!
I also found a few spiritual stores, like an inner peace bookstore and stores that sell Buddha statues, relaxing music and yoga mats. I love yoga and meditation so it was fun looking around in these stores and I bought a Bollywood style head-chain that I love.

My supercute haidchain

In on of the bookstores
After spending the day in Abbot Kinney( and oh yes Bono walked past us) we had dinner at Gjelina wich is a hipster, trendy italian restaurant. I had the best pizza i ever tasted there and caramel pudding for desert wich was so yummi.  If you're ever in Venice you definitely HAVE to go and eat at Gjelina!

The best pizza in the wooooorrrrld!!

Had the best day in Venice and now I only have 2 days left in California. It's really sad but I'll be back next summer and can't wait!!

ps. in the evening we went for a drive and drove to were the O.C. shows were filmed, the Pier, the Diner and the Club they always went to! I am the biggest O.C. fan !!

At the Pier. Wearing a denim jacket from American Apparel, Jeans from  BDG and sneaker wedgies from Steve Madden( my fave shoes now)

Maje & Sandro love

Heyja!

When I was in Paris last summer I discovered two of my fave stores af all times - Maje and Sandro. They are both quite small stores with unique and beautiful clothing. They're more expensive than highstreet fashion but not nearly as expensive as the big designers.
I was so happy when I went to New York last month and was able to shop there again. I bought a wintercoat that I really loooove in Maje!

Dress from Maje in Paris. Wore this for my 20th bday party!

Melrose

Heyja

Yesterday I went shopping at Melrose avenue. I love it, in my opinion its the best place in LA to go shopping. It has all my fave stores, from Urban Outfitters to Marc by Marc Jacobs. It also has little hipster stores that sell dope T-shirts and tanks and you can find very chic vintage stores there as well, like American Vintage where you can get the nicest fur coats for like 100 $!

I bought a silence+noise dress in Urban Outfitters that I wore to a party I went to last night in Santa Monica. My friend Jackson's mom was hosting it and it was crowded with the coolest people I've seen in LA with two open bars and a sushi chef that made you all the sushi you wanted. So much fun!
me and Jackson. We met in Reykjavik almost 4 years ago!!

I love the back on my new silence+noise dress

Livin' it up in LA

Heyja.

Yesterday I went to Hollywood, alone, and visited this supercool museum called the Hollywood Museum. Everything on display was 'Old Hollywood' style, dresses from Marilyn Monroe and Liz Taylor, old movie costumes, movie props, rare interviews with celebrities etc.
I'm a little obsessed with old Hollywood. I've been the biggest Marilyn Monroe fan since I was like 9, so I loved this museum. There was a special exhibition on Jean Harlow, who was Marilyn Monroe's inspiration. They both had bleach-blonde hair and were extremely attractive, bombshell-actresses. Sadly, they both died, long before their time.
It was so inspiring to see all the fabulous outfits and pictures as well as interviews with these actresses. The glam dresses, furs, feathers, hats, shoes and handbags - so sophisticated, yet so cool.

Today we drove to Malibu! It was amazing. We spent time at the beach looking at the beautiful sea and the amazing landscape.  Then we went to this small, supercute, outside mall and the stores there were so Malibu-style, surf chic. After a great day in Malibu we drove to Santa Monica to watch the sun go down. It was probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, a lot of people got together by the pier and watched the sun go down, like it was diving into the ocean
my iPhone's camera doesn't do the sunset justice, compared to how beautiful it was with my own eyes. But anyways, the amazing sunset in Santa Monica

Rodio Drive lovin'

Heyja.

I drove through Beverly Hills today. O m g the houses (more like mansions) are so big and beautiful there. I took a stroll down Rodeo Drive just for window shopping, I loved it so much and you get great outfit ideas just from looking at the beautiful windows of Prada, Cucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Chanel etc. I'm especially inspired by the Chanel 2013 spring collection, it's so cute and girlie combined with sophisticated and royal, Marie Antoinette style. I love the calm pastel colors with glitter and gold.
